Big bull reds, big black drum and plenty of speckled trout! After taking time off during the winter to chase waterfowl in Arkansas, the fishing picked right back up where we left off during the winter. The bull reds and huge black drum were out in full force. We had a single day where we caught 9 bull reds all over 39" along with plenty of huge black drum. The big girls have come out to play this spring and they are HUNGRY! Fishing deeper water channels on bottom with live shrimp early in the morning and switching to shallow flats and ponds with live shrimp under popping cork after the sun gets overhead has been the ticket to consistent catching. The speckled trout fishing has continued to get better throughout the month of March. Fishing rock jetties with a good moving tide early has been doing the trick. The trout have not been picky either. We are catching trout on Marker 54 and Matrix Shad plastics along with Campo's live shrimp. Most trout are being caught in 6-10 feet of water under popping cork with 3-4 foot leader. The fishing is heating up and the temperatures have be mild. Contact Us if you would like to get on the books for a spring time fishing charter.
